Blog 8: Adaptive Technologies

Adaptive technologies are instruments used to help people with disabilities use computer technology more effectively. Students with disabilities are sometimes unable to do things that other students can do, but that is okay. It is important to make note of these things so accommodations can be put in place. For example, my line sister has hearing issues so she wears hearing aids. In the classroom, I am afraid that some students won't understand the needs for these accommodations and try to isolate their fellow classmates.  


The three domains of Bloom's Taxonomy are Cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude or self), and psychomotor (skills). Then there are 6 categories of the actual hierarchy.  
1) Remembering- Consists of recalling and recognizing, which deals with identifying and retrieving. 
2) Understanding- Consists of interpreting, exemplifyingclassifying, summarizing, inferring, comparing, and explaining, which deals with Clarifying, illustrating, abstracting, extrapolating, and constructing models 
3) Applying- Consists of executing and implementing which deals with carrying out and using 
4) Analyzing- Consists of differentiating, organizing, and attributing which deals with distinguishing, integrating, and deconstructing 
5) Evaluating- Consists of checking and critiquing, which deals with coordinating and judging 
6) Creating- Consists of generating, planning, and producing, which consists of hypothesizing, designing, and constructing. 

PowerPoint has several tools and resources in that one program that will cater to the needs of each level of learning.
